Is a vote for the Green Party a “wasted vote” in Redhill West? Tap to open

Absolutely not. The Green Party is one of the fastest-growing political forces in the UK, and as that growth continues, we are becoming a decisive factor in elections at every level. Here in Reigate & Banstead, that momentum is already delivering results. Every Green Councillor elected changes the dynamic in the room and holds the administration to account. You simply don’t get Green—or fairer—policies unless you vote for them, and more people are doing exactly that than ever before.

Aren’t the Greens just a “single-issue” party? Tap to open

Not at all. I believe there’s no such thing as environmental justice without social justice. My campaign isn’t just about trees — it’s about warm homes, fair renting, affordable transport, the cost of living, and a healthier, more secure community. A greener society should also be a fairer society.

What are your top priorities for Redhill West? Tap to open

Right now, my focus is on: cost of living, housing, the local environment (clean streets and green spaces), and community & neighbourhoods. You can read more on the Priorities page.

How can the Council afford ideas like a County Travel Card? Tap to open

It depends how we define “value”. Making public transport easier and more affordable isn’t just a cost — it’s an investment. When buses run empty, services get cut and everyone loses. When fares are simpler and fairer, usage goes up, footfall improves, and local businesses benefit.

What can a local councillor actually do? Tap to open

A councillor isn’t an MP — but local government has real influence: planning decisions, housing standards and delivery, local environmental enforcement, community spaces, and how well residents are supported and heard. A good councillor also helps residents navigate the system, raises issues, and keeps pressure on until they’re resolved.

Will you actually have the time to be a councillor? Tap to open

Yes. Family life is still busy, but my children are adults now so day-to-day parenting looks very different than it did years ago. I also work part-time, which gives me flexibility during the week to follow up issues, attend meetings, and be present locally.

Are “School Streets” just a way to punish drivers? Tap to open

No — they’re a way to protect children. The restrictions are typically only for a short period at drop-off and pick-up. Residents, Blue Badge holders and emergency vehicles still have access. It’s a small inconvenience for through-traffic that creates a massive safety and air-quality improvement for kids.

What can a local councillor change regarding private renting? Tap to open

More than you might think. While councils don’t set rent caps, they do have legal powers to inspect properties and require landlords to fix serious hazards like damp and mould. My approach is simple: use the powers the council already has, proactively and consistently, so tenants aren’t left feeling powerless.

I have an issue not listed here — can you help? Tap to open

Yes — I’m always ready to listen. Whether it’s a missed bin collection, a pothole, a planning concern, housing problems, or something else, my job is to represent you and help push for solutions.
